A first round draft selection in 2004, Thomson enters his fourth season at the club in 2008 seeming ready to make a midfield spot his own. He has all the qualities of an inside midfielder, most notably the way he can read taps and feed teammates with his excellent handball. Works equally as hard on his tackling, laying as many as eight in a game in 2007.
