Alberton Oval is more than just a playing field. It’s hallowed ground where many legends of the game have trodden. Fos Williams, Motley, Cahill, Ebert and Evans all dazzled the assembled masses here. Endless premiership flags have been proudly raised on top of our iconic grandstands.

Since formation in 1870, our great Club has dominated South Australian football and today our relentless pursuit of victory is seen on a national stage in the AFL. Our success is unsurpassed, our tradition is ingrained and the burning passion of our faithful supporters is unmatched.

The Port Adelaide Football Club now invites you to help ensure that we remain a strong and proud Club for generations to come. You can do this by becoming a member of the Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society,
by declaring that you have left a bequest in your Will to the Port Adelaide Football Club.

Your support as a member of the Port Adelaide Forever Bequest Society will ensure that everything this great Club has stood for since 1870 remains.

It will keep your Club financially strong, successful and welcoming for future players, supporters and the community.

We all share the belief that the Port Adelaide Football Club exists to win premierships. Your bequest will provide much needed support to further the Club’s unparalleled achievements and continue this great tradition.

Port Adelaide Forever members share a special bond and sense of belonging. Not only will you be contributing to your Club’s ongoing success, you will also be part of a welcoming and friendly social environment.

As a member, you will receive privileges including:

• invitations to regular social gatherings and luncheons sponsored by the Club;
• being immortalised on an Honour Board with your name alongside the Club’s champions;
• a personalised Port Adelaide Forever framed certificate signed by Chairman David Koch
and CEO Keith Thomas;
• an exclusive gift box containing Society member’s items of recognition;
• a special honourary Port Adelaide Forever pin; and
• a Society newsletter to keep up with the Club’s activities.
We understand that some people may prefer to give their gift of bequest anonymously and
we will honour any such request, with full confidentiality.

Should you decide to join Port Adelaide Forever, your bequest will be treated with the utmost respect.

Your bequest will be invested into an endowment Future Fund to secure the Port Adelaide Football Club’s long-term future. Only the profits earned from the fund will be utilised to support the Club’s annual activities. This will ensure that the integrity of the Future Fund is protected.

The Club will utilise these profits to invest in capital equipment and resources for the development of players and coaches, as we relentlessly strive for the ultimate on-field success. The proceeds will also fund our highly respected player community programs that bring healthy lifestyle messages to thousands of South Australian children.

The Future Fund itself will not be drawn on, but will remain in perpetuity returning much needed income to the Club on an annual basis.

This way, your legacy remains an everlasting one.

It’s a surprising statistic that less than two-thirds of the Australian adult population has a valid Will.

Making a Will can put your mind at ease because you’ll know that your personal wishes will be honoured.

It’s your way to take care of family members and others who have been important to you throughout your life.

By having a legal Will, you can avoid the confusion that sometimes arises.

Once you have ensured that you have taken care of your family, friends and loved ones, your bequest to the Club can take a number of forms:

• a percentage of the value of your Estate (so other beneficiaries are not disadvantaged should circumstances change);
• the whole or part of the residue of your Estate after you’ve made provisions for family and other beneficiaries; or
• a specified amount of money or items of property (please note that a specified monetary amount will not appreciate over time).

The Port Adelaide Football Club is not qualified or authorised to provide legal advice. To ensure that your wishes are clearly and legally stated, you may wish to consider the following options:

• consulting a qualified Solicitor or Trustee Company;
• inserting a paragraph in your existing Will; or
• completing a simple Codicil document.

While there are several types of bequest clauses, the following is the most commonly used for a general bequest:

“I give to the Port Adelaide Football Club_____________% of the whole of the residue of my Estate; OR the whole of the residue of my Estate, OR the sum of $____________ to be used for its general purposes. The receipt of an authorised officer of the Port Adelaide Football Club will be sufficient discharge to my Executor/Trustee.”

Your generous support makes a real difference.

To ensure we can honour your properly, please make sure that you notify the Club of your bequest
by contacting the Club.
