Innovation in Stadium Signage Technology

The Port Adelaide Football Club is excited to offer the latest in stadium signage technology to AAMI Stadium in 2009.

In a South Australian sporting first, advertisers will have the opportunity to expose their brands to viewing audiences of Australian rules football through the medium of LED signage.

LED perimeter fence signage has taken advertising in sport to new levels internationally through sports like the English Premier League (Soccer), Indian Premier League (Cricket), and South African rugby. Until now in Australia, LED fence signage has been on a small scale through NRL, Soccer and AFL.

From 2009, in what will be the most expansive LED signage system operating in AFL anywhere in Australia, advertisers will access 280 metres of AAMI Stadium perimeter fence signage for Port Adelaide’s eleven home games in the prime television arc.

What is LED

The LED (Light Emitting Diode) perimeter fence signage will enhance the advertisers engagement with the viewing audience like never before.

LED provides brilliant, high resolution digital images that provide outstanding performance even in full daylight conditions. LED enables advertisers to run content rich graphics that “grandstand” their brand in the most eye catching way.

The LED perimeter fence signage system will wrap around the premium television arc of AAMI stadium across 280 metres. The system is 864mm high and will be elevated approximately 300mm above the actual playing surface.

The advantages of LED

LED signage presents dynamic, animated digital imagery that increases brand recall four times that compared to static or scrolling signage. It is proven to enhance advertisers returns from signage compared to the previously cluttered static signage system available in sporting stadiums like AAMI Stadium.

The digital nature of LED signage provides advertisers the ultimate flexibility due to the cost effectiveness of artwork; can be changed frequently inexpensively opening up a whole new realm of possibilities for advertisers.

Advertisers for their purchased game time will “own” the entire 280 metres of LED signage in the prime television arc. Grouped signage is proven to provide better returns for advertisers.

LED signage provides unique opportunities to engage with supporters throughout the game, linking brands to specific events within the game or specific moments in time.
