Height: 189cm
Weight: 82kg
DOB: 19/11/1989
Club: Collingwood/Dandenong U/18

PTV: John McCarthy Highlights

PAFC National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker says: He has spent some time with us and gave every indication he’d he happy to join Port Adelaide if we drafted him.

He comes from a really solid club at Collingwood and he has a strong body. We targeted him early on and would expect him to be in the side for the opening round next season.

Rookie Draft - Pick 3

Chad WingardPick #3: Darren Pfeiffer
Height: 183cm
Weight: 81kg
DOB: 28/9/1987
Club: Norwood/Southport/Carlton/Adelaide

PTV: Darren Pfeiffer Highlights

PAFC National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker says: Another player with a mature body who could step in and play straight away if required.

Darren came back to Norwood this year and played well through half-back and the midfield and we would foresee him playing a similar role for us.

Rookie Draft - Pick 21

Pick #21: Danny Butcher
Height: 183cm
Weight: 73kg
DOB: 22/1/1993
Club: Gippsland Power/Maffra

PTV: Danny Butcher Highlights

PAFC National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker says: Looks and plays differently to his brother, but he won the Gippsland Power best and fairest and came second in the Morrish Medal.

Has a few rough edges but he is tough, competitive and fast. He’ll play senior footy in the SANFL and we’ll see what happens next.

National Draft - Pick 6

Chad WingardPick #6: Chad Wingard
Height: 182cm
Weight: 77kg
DOB: 29/9/1993
Club: Sturt/Imperial

PTV: Chad Wingard Highlights

AFL Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan says: Left-footed midfielder/forward who excelled at the NAB AFL Draft Combine, recording the highest in the running vertical jump test with 92cm. He also managed the fourth best score in the clean hands test, as well as top scores in the agility run and the standing vertical jump test.

He captained South Australia at the NAB AFL U18 Championships, averaging 19.3 possessions and winning All Australian honours. Part of the 13th intake into the AIS/AFL Academy, he has shown he has an uncanny ability to find the football at stoppages in the air or in space. He is also courageous overhead, creative with his handball and dangerous around goals with his penetrating left foot kick.

X-Factor: His uncanny ability in the air and around goal sets him apart

PAFC National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker says: He is a highly talented player and it's a bonus for us to get him at pick number six. His competitiveness and ability to impact on the game are really impressive. He's capable of doing some freaky things and making things happen for his team.

As a pick 6 he's going to be given the opportunity to play. How many games he can play is the question. He's still only light, he's got to do some work and get his fitness base up, but I'd expect him to play a few games for Matty in 2012.

National Draft - Pick 45

Ben JacobsPick #45: Brendon Ah Chee
Height: 188cm
Weight: 82kg
DOB: 21/12/1993
Club: South Fremantle/Kelmscott Junior
Position: Forward

Brendon Ah Chee Highlights

AFL Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan says: Played one game in the NAB AFL U18  Championships. He wins contested footy and is strong overhead. He also shows good game sense with his decision-making and creativity.

PAFC National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker says:
He's an inside midfielder who can go forward and take a mark. What we really liked about him was his ability to find the ball around the stoppage and clear it with really clean hands.

He's got a little way to go physically and he's probably not going o be ready to go straight away, but we think he's got some skills that will make him a talented AFL players.

National Draft - Pick 51

Nathan BleePick #51: Nathan Blee
Height: 191cm
Weight: 84kg
DOB: 7/9/1990
Club: East Perth/Ballajura Junior
Position: Defender

Nathan Blee Highlights

AFL Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan says: Has very good closing speed, body positioning when one on one, and he uses the ball well. Can get off his opponent and create run from defence. Plays on taller or smaller opponents and uses the ball effectively.

PAFC National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker says: He's a bit more physically developed than the other boys we've selected, but if we got an injury to one of our key defenders, he could come in and fill a role.

He's had some good experience against AFL-listed players in the Foxtel Cup and he'll be ready to play if needed.
