The Port Adelaide Football Club makes the following statement in regard to Liam Jurrah:

Liam Jurrah has not taken up the Port Adelaide Football Club’s offer to train and play with its SANFL team in 2013.

Port Adelaide has offered extensive support in an attempt to assist Liam, but unfortunately it appears that complex circumstances in his life away from football have prevented him from making the commitment required by the club.

Port Adelaide has been genuine in its desire to help and has attempted to maintain dialogue with Liam over recent months, but it is clear that he now needs to focus entirely on the matters he is dealing with in his personal life.

The club wishes Liam well and will continue to offer what support it can, but it believes playing football cannot be a primary consideration at this time.

Liam’s personal affairs are matters for him and beyond this statement Port Adelaide will make no further comment.
