THE INTRODUCTION of AFL Player Ratings this year has given football followers another means of comparing the status of players within the competition.

With a month left of the current minor round, the club enjoys the presence of four key players inside the top 100 of the competition.

That means they're in the best 15 per cent of players.

Travis Boak leads the way for the Power, currently ranked 36th in the AFL after cracking the top 40 a few weeks ago.

He has jumped 20 places since the start of the year in one of his best seasons in the AFL.

While Brad Ebert's standing has lowered after sitting as high as 67th in Round 17, he has still gained territory in the rankings after being placed 94th at the end of 2012.

He is now 74th.

An injury-free Hamish Hartlett has also enjoyed a rise in the standings.

His graph shows a big jump at the start of the year with several emphatic performances for the Power, before a slight dip midway through the season when taggers kept him honest in several games.

But three good efforts against St Kilda, Brisbane and Adelaide has seen him consolidate 82nd spot on the ratings ladder.

The club’s most prolific rise is maintained by Chad Wingard.

The 20-year-old debuted at position 585 back in the first round of 2012.

At the end of his first season he was 409th; he is now inside the top 100 at position 87.

The only week he has dropped in ranking was that of the club’s bye.

It’s hard to elevate yourself when you’re whole team isn’t playing!

It also means that with such a prolific season behind him, Wingard’s ranking could elevate even higher in 2014 if he maintains his form.

The ratings take into account a player’s most recent 40 games.
