The 26-year-old was withdrawn from the Power's squad of 29 after club officials confirmed he had quad soreness.
He has been replaced by second-year midfielder Ollie Wines.
The Power will face a similarly-matched Adelaide outfit in the first NAB Challenge match for both clubs this pre-season, which gets underway at Richmond at 4:10pm.
Port Adelaide will confirm its final team 90 minutes before the first bounce.
