Macca19’s Top 5
Travis Boak

There it is, the game we've been waiting from him all year. Dominated the midfield all day and put in by far his best game for the season. Started with a bang with a huge first quarter and didnt let up. 41 touches, 3 goal assists and a goal himself. Can’t ask for any better than that. Thought he did most of his best work on the inside this week and just consistently got the ball at the stoppages. BOG Boaky.

Matthew Broadbent
Only a smidgen behind Boaky for best on ground. Has really made that back flank spot his own since the second half of last year and is now consistently controlling and effecting the outcome of matches. His efforts dropping back in front of the key forwards was second to none and his ability to bolt off up the ground and spread wide and provide an option is as good as anyone in the league. Stunning game.

Robbie Gray
The only disappointing part of Robbie’s game was his goalkicking. Could have easily had a 4-5 goal game and pushed hard for best on ground. In the end he was well in the best players anyway. A blistering start to the season and you can tell how much we missed this sort of Robbie through 2012 and 2013. Just continuously manages to work his way in front and win the ball and get into scoring position. 3 goal assists as well.

Brad Ebert
Thought he slowly worked into the game and had a huge second half. Just a tireless worker around the packs, a tireless worker in creating the play. Works from half back and runs hard to consistently create the play. Love how he makes the centre corridor his own. A brilliant, brilliant footballer.

Matt White
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Brisbane had no answer for his pace across half forward. Great first half. Could have easily ended with 4 or 5 instead of 3, and also had multiple goal assists. Whilst he won’t have it that easy all the time, it’s great to see him stand up with Monfries and Wingard out of the side. Arguably his best game of his career.

Best of the young guns
Jasper Pittard

One of the best games I’ve seen him play. A couple of sloppy moments but they didn’t take away what was a very accomplished and mature performance. No surprise that he was also playing further up the ground as well. Very much in our best players and when he plays like that, you just wish he could do that on a weekly basis.

Ollie Wines
Just keeps on keeping on. Another high 20s disposal game. Another game where he hit the scoreboard. Another game where he provided numerous goal assists for his teammates. Love Ollie in this side so much. 15 contested disposals is huge. I run out of things to say about Ollie. He’s just so consistent week in week out.

Sam Gray
You bloody beauty Sammy. What a top effort in your debut. 3 great goals and a number of excellent pieces of play with clever hands and accurate skills. Has deserved a shot for a long time and great to see him take it with both hands. Should stay in the side for a while now based on that. That goal on the boundary! Stunning!
