Macca19’s Top 5
Robbie Gray

Robbie Robbie Robbie! Yet another match winning effort playing that dual mid/forward role. It’s such a pity he did his knee when he did, we could have been seeing this for the last two years. Never mind though, he has matured into the regular match changing player and just about our best player that he always threatened to do through 2009-11. He does it all. Wonderful contested marks, key goals at important times, wonderful clearance work, finds space in front of his opponent and is near impossible to tackle with his change of direction and strong core. Brilliant player. Best on ground.

Brad Ebert
Is there no stopping Brad’s fantastic and emphatic rise into the elite of the competition? We know he works so hard but he now has the skills to match that work ethic. Continuously changes the course of the game in our direction with plenty of hard work, strong disposal and tonight, two great early goals. Overtaken for best on late by Robbie, but certainly wasn't far behind.

Dom Cassisi
I thought he turned back the clock and put on a brilliant 4 quarter effort. Was like the Dom of old winning the hard ball and standing up when some of our better players were down throughout the game. Loved his efforts in winning the contested ball and through he played such a key role in that last quarter with strong tackles keeping the ball in our forward line. Not BOG, but very much in our best players.

Matt White
Excellent early, had a gap in the middle two quarters before having a big last quarter with lots of dash and carry with the ball. Gave us a real spark in the first 5 minutes of that quarter. Just keeps churning out very good performances this year. Looking like an inspired pick up.

Alipate Carlile
Kept Kennedy under pressure the whole night which led to him kicking 1.5. Right on his hammer the whole evening and spoiled to perfection. You must give Ken and the coaches’ credit for what they've done with Carlile over the last 18 months. He went from being a liability to such a key player last year and he's grown in stature again this year. Another game with just 1 goal kicked on him and he's become such a smooth decision maker with the ball in his hand as well. This is the player he looked like becoming through 2008-9 and it’s great to see him performing to his full potential.

Best of the young guns
Jared Polec

Worked himself hard to continuously provide plenty of run for all four quarters. Looked spent in the last and you could tell he left nothing in the tank. Had a massive third quarter.

Jasper Pittard
Another fine performance. Maybe a little less than last week but defensively he was very very good, his decision making was outstanding and he barely wasted a disposal. You can't ask for more than that. Very mature performance as he was put under a lot of pressure at times and he held strong.
