Power footballers have spent time at the Repat General Hospital, Daw Park, to view the facilities and meet with both staff and patients.

The players were hosted by the Repat Foundation CEO, Jan Chorley, and Veterans from various conflicts including Vietnam and Korea.

Many stories were exchanged and the players were exposed to the rehabilitation facilities at the Hospital including the pool and gym.

The players gained a better understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and the great work that is taking place in Ward 17.

The Repat Foundation is raising funds for the Hospital and a range of research projects, and in particular would like to see Ward 17 refurbished to provide a better social experience for patients and their families.

Power Community Ltd, the community development arm of Port Adelaide Football Club, coordinated the visit as part of its Defence Recognition Program. The Defence Recognition Program supports and recognises Veterans and their families, current Defence personnel and their families, and the broader Defence Industry in South Australia. Many of these stakeholders will attend a function at the Power v Geelong game on Sunday April 27th as part of AFL ANZAC Round.

The Defence Recognition Program is supported by BAE Systems Australia who recognise the work of the Repat Foundation and Power Community Ltd - we are kicking goals together.
