ANGUS MONFRIES is clear to play against Greater Western Sydney this week after Ken Hinkley confirmed his imminent return on Sunday night.

Monfries is listed as available to return from the hamstring injury he suffered against North Melbourne in Round 3, along with Brendon Ah Chee who is expected to return from an ankle injury for the Magpies against the Crows state league team on Sunday.

It’s more good news for Port Adelaide heading into a challenging period in both the AFL and SANFL – the Power play Fremantle and Hawthorn in the next month while the Magpies take on competitive sides like the Crows, Sturt, South Adelaide and North Adelaide.

The news is also good for Mason Shaw, Sam Russell and Lewis Stevenson who are a week closer to their respective returns.

The club will also wait the result of scans to the knee of injured defender Sam Colquhoun.

The 19-year-old was stretchered from the ground after kicking a ball away in the middle of Alberton Oval in the Magpies’ 58-point win over West last Saturday.

portadelaidefc.com.au will have the news of the scans later in the week.
