ALIPATE Carlile and Angus Monfries will be monitored at training this week as they attempt to return from hamstring injuries.

But both remain an outside chance to earn a recall to play the Demons at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.

Carlile is edging closer to match fitness and will be given every chance to return this weekend, but head of high performance Darren Burgess says the Power won’t take a risk a rushed comeback.

“Bobby’s recovery is progressing on schedule, we think he’ll be at least another week but if things look good at training he could be a chance,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“But both him and Angus will need to come up fully fit before we look at bringing them back – they’re important players and we won’t be taking a risk with these injuries, given their history.”

Robbie Gray will be assessed during the week after a hard head knock on the Etihad Stadium surface in the final minutes of Sunday’s 20-point loss to Richmond.

Jackson Trengove’s recovery also continues to progress and he remains a chance to return against either Sydney or Gold Coast in August.

Port Adelaide’s SANFL injury list continues to remain in good shape with only Aseri Raikiwasa in rehabilitation following Louis Sharrad’s return to the club’s Academy team last week.
