PORT Adelaide’s pace attack could receive a boost this weekend with the likely return of Cam Hitchcock and potentially Kane Mitchell in Saturday’s SANFL Showdown.

Hitchcock was one of the Magpies’ most consistent players at the beginning of the year before being felled by a shin injury.

He’s set to make his comeback against the Crows’ SANFL team at Alberton on Saturday afternoon after being named as available on the club's official injury list.

Kane Mitchell is also a chance to play after being omitted from the Power’s Round 18 side.

The possible return of the West Australian speedster would inject extra run into the side.

Tom Logan and Sam Gray will also provide valuable small options in defence and attack respectively if they're picked in the side after missing last week's Demons clash.

In contrast, Ben Newton and Paul Stewart will be unlikely to line up for the black and white after receiving an AFL call up last week.

Port Adelaide has struggled to produce its early-season form for several weeks – having lost two out of its last three games – and the Magpies will be keen to make amends against the Crows in the West Lakes team’s first visit to Alberton.

Adelaide

Adelaide’s selectors will be forced to pick two sides this weekend with the Crows playing Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday, so there is scope for plenty of wheeling and dealing when their match committee meets during the week.

Of those players facing fitness tests this weekend, Charlie Cameron and Jared Petrenko have played in the Crows SANFL team.
