ALIPATE Carlile and Angus Monfries are near certainties to play this week, with the duo only needing to get through the club’s main training session to be passed fit to play Collingwood on Sunday.

It’s welcome news for the Power which will reclaim two ‘first-choice’ players with their return.

Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess is happy with the outcome of their rehabilitation.

“Both have got through rehab and there’s no reason why they won’t be available for selection this week,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

Jackson Trengove is also nearing the end of his rehabilitation, but won’t be made available for Sunday’s game.

“Jacko was always a long shot to be ready for Round 19, but we’re expecting him to be around the mark for Sydney in Round 20.”

And Cameron Hitchcock will likely be declared fit for the club’s SANFL game against Central District on August 9, after the small forward’s surgeon recommended he be withheld from last Saturday’s win against the Crows and this week’s encounter with South at Noarlunga.
