THE AFL has confirmed the Round 23 fixture to close the 2014 home-and-away season, with Fremantle to host Port Adelaide on Saturday 30 August.

That match will be played at Patersons Stadium in Perth, commencing at 1:10pm WST (2:40pm ACST).

It allows an eight-day break for the Power, which plays Carlton at the Adelaide Oval on the Friday of Round 22.

Preference in the allocation of game times was given to higher ranked teams, with current top four sides Sydney, Geelong and Fremantle scheduled on Saturday, while current second-ranked Hawthorn will play a Friday night blockbuster against Collingwood at the MCG.
