The diagnosis came as forward John Butcher was discharged from hospital earlier on Monday.
Butcher had originally gone to hospital last Thursday night after displaying symptoms associated with the illness.
He too was confirmed as having meningitis and withdrew from Port Adelaide's Round 15 SANFL team as a result.
