TOM JONAS is expected to front the Hawks next Saturday afternoon after being substituted from the Power's thrilling win over Fremantle on Saturday night.

Jonas left the ground in the second term and was unable to return for the third quarter - replaced by nominated sub Andrew Moore.

Senior coach Ken Hinkley, however, was confident Jonas would play in the Power's first preliminary final since 2007.

That will be against Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday 20 September at 4:45pm.

MATCH REPORT: POWER GOES BANG INTO PRELIM

"He's OK, he's got a really bad 'corkie' from the marking contest on the far side of the ground.

"I would imagine without any doubt - Tom Jonas is a tough bugger - he will be there and playing pretty strong [against Hawthorn] next week.

"At that stage of the game we just thought if you can't run properly, playing defence, then you aren't going to be able to defend well."

Hinkley also revealed he was 100 per cent confident Matt White would play against Fremantle, despite the minor crack he suffered against Richmond in the elimination final last Sunday.

PRELIM FINAL TICKET INFORMATION

"Not for once moment," Hinkley said when asked if he had any doubts about White's fitness.

"On Monday we were confident Whitey would play, he was confident he would play [but] we put player welfare first and foremost."
