PORT Adelaide will make its fourth trip to Perth in a year after being rostered to play Fremantle in the opening round of the 2015 AFL Premiership Season.

As is customary, the Power will travel away for Round 1 having hosted the inaugural home game of the 2014 season at the Adelaide Oval.

The Crows will instead play North Melbourne at the Oval in the opening round, while the Power is all but certain to close its 19th AFL season at its city home.

Carlton and Richmond will again kick off the season with a Thursday night clash in Melbourne.

But it's the journey to Perth that will see the Power's campaign get off to a challenging start at Patersons Stadium against a Fremantle side that will be out to settle a score.

The Opening Round encounter will be a re-match of the thrilling semi final that saw Port Adelaide overcome a rampant first half from the Dockers to prevail by 22 points following an incredible performance in the remaining quarters.

Having finished the 2014 season in third position, the Power will be scheduled to play at least two games against any of Hawthorn, Sydney, North Melbourne, Geelong or Fremantle next season.

The traditional double Showdown will likely satisfy the minimum requirement of one double meeting against a side ranked from 7-12 in 2014 (the Crows finished 10th).

The AFL has no obligation to schedule Port Adelaide to play a bottom-third side more than once next year.

It could therefore be possible that the Power will front four of the five other teams to finish in this year's top third.
