MAGPIES ruckman Ben Haren won't call Alberton home in 2015 after signalling his intent to join South Adelaide next year.

Haren, 22, made his League debut for Port Adelaide in Round 15, 2013.

Having played for the club's underage program previously, Haren was drafted to the Sydney Swans as a rookie in 2010 where he stayed for two seasons before returning to Port Adelaide two years ago.

One of 15 inaugural SANFL contract players under Port Adelaide's new League structure in 2014, Haren played 13 games and kicked 11 goals as a ruck-forward throughout the year.

Paperwork to process Haren's transfer will occur in the coming days, with the former Port Districts player the first change to the club's SANFL contract list for the 2014/15 off-season.

Port Adelaide's new group of Academy hopefuls visited Alberton Oval last night ahead of the start of pre-season training at the end of this month.
