Day 6. The third-to-last.

This is typically the hardest day, effort, or set to do. Well, I think so anyway.

Generally, everyone can find a little bit more for the final effort, where the lure of the finish line is right there.

But on the third-last there’s a combination of incredible fatigue, and a daunting amount of hard work still to be done, without the enticement of it all being over.

Nevertheless, the boys put in another stunning effort.

Not since I joined the club in 2010 have I seen the fitness staff so consistently blown away at what our group has been able to serve up in every session of every day.

The morning was structured as a traditional training session, yet the numbers produced and feedback from each player indicated no one had left anything in the tank.

Hombschy was outstanding, both in the running and football components.

Similarly, Ebo worked tirelessly, as he has done this whole trip, showing true grit and leading by example as we’ve come to expect from him.

We call Ebo ‘Treats’ and he will certainly be treating himself once this camp is done, and deservedly so.

Lunch provided a breather and opportunity to refuel, seeing as Burgo had the biggest afternoon yet in store for us.

The rehab boys set about overcoming an 80-minute sweaty, whilst the main group laced up and hit the track for a series of longer distance runs.

Two running defenders, Jasper Pittard and Darcy Byrne 'Bones'-Jones stood out, notching up plenty of high speed, and pushing the likes of Boaky, Ollie Wines and Karl Amon who’ve been consistently leading the way.

For dinner we made a short trip via golf cart to the Cube Sports Bar.

This has quickly become a regular haunt for anyone keen on a quick feed and a game of eight ball or shuffleboard.

Sam Gray and Kenny are both pretty quick to pump up their tyres about their gaming abilities, although we’re yet to see them walk the walk.

Only two more sleeps 'til it's over!
