Port Adelaide

Andrew Moore and Matthew Lobbe will be in contention for Port Adelaide's team this weekend, as the Power prepare for an important home clash with the Swans at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Lobbe was withdrawn late from Sunday’s seven-point loss to Fremantle at Domain Stadium with quad soreness, and will need to pass a fitness assessment at training during the week.

Moore, on the other hand, has bounced back from a hamstring injury suffered against Adelaide in the NAB Challenge three weeks ago.

He’ll be available for selection this week, either against the Swans on Saturday night, or for Port Adelaide’s SANFL side on Friday.

Kane Mitchell and Aaron Young are also a chance to be named, after being listed as emergencies for the Power last week. If not selected, they too will probably suit up for the Magpies on Friday night.

The Magpies will kick off their SANFL League season against South Adelaide in Noarlunga.

Sydney Swans

Meanwhile, the Swans will likely retain the services of their 2014 best and fairest Luke Parker, who has recovered well from a collision with teammate Lance Franklin last Saturday.

Parker must be declared fit by club doctors before selection, according to Swans coach John Longmire.

“Those things are left for the doctors, we let them make those decisions,” Longmire said on Tuesday.

Key Swans Jarrad McVeigh (calf) and Ben McGlynn (buttocks/hamstring) are also in the mix and will face fitness tests at training ahead of selection.

“Both expect to train this week, both trained on the weekend and trained hard and well. We’ll see how they go," Longmire said.

“We were probably a bit conservative with Jarrad based upon a couple of calf injuries he had during the pre-season.”
