THIS Saturday’s ANZAC Round home game against 2014 reigning premiers Hawthorn is shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the season.

Gameday partner – RSL South Australia
In conjunction with the Returned Services League of South Australia, Port Adelaide has number of proceedings planned for Saturday night’s clash to commemorate this year’s ANZAC centenary of the Gallipoli landing in World War I.

In-stadium entertainment will include an ANZAC performance by John Schumann and the Australian Girls’ Choir at 6.40pm, followed by both teams coming together in solidarity by running through a joint banner. Shortly after, an Official ANZAC Observance Ceremony will take place.

Power players will don special commemorative guernseys featuring the RSL’s iconic ANZAC badge for the game, while the club has sourced a rare 1915 penny to be tossed by the grandsons of past Port Adelaide player and Distinguished Conduct Medallist Tom McDonald.

Following the match, the Peter Badcoe VC Medal will be presented by the late war hero’s sister, Thelma Kelton – a pillar of Port Adelaide’s ANZAC Round traditions.
