Avenue of Honour and Alberton War Memorial

Port Adelaide joined with Adelaide-based urban tree research group TREEnet to launch a new Avenue of Honour to be planted in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, and a war memorial for the club's servicemen at Alberton. You can sponsor a tree in the Avenue of Honour for a tax-deductible $200 donation, and preserve the memory of a fallen Port solider.

Kids book

Thanks to grants from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Office of Mark Butler MP, the Port Adelaide Football Club will release a book detailing the story of South Australian football in the 1910s and the Port Adelaide servicemen involved in World War I.

Tom McDonald's story uncovered

The story of Tom McDonald was told earlier this week - a former Port Adelaide player who enlisted for service in World War I and was awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal for capturing an enemy machine gun.

ANZAC Guernsey proceeds to RSL

Port Adelaide will wear a special ANZAC guernsey in both the AFL and SANFL to commemorate the centenary of the Gallipoli Landings. Proceeds from the guernsey will be donated to the RSL of South Australia.
