WHILE the Power are getting ready to take on the Eagles at home this Sunday, portadelaidefc.com.au takes a look at who’s in the mix for both sides for the Mother’s Day clash.

Port Adelaide
With Jared Polec ruled out for the next eight weeks, the question becomes who replaces the dashing left footer.

Karl Amon didn’t play for the Magpies last week because he was carried over as an emergency for the Power, suggesting the 19-year-old isn’t too far off his senior debut.

Amon’s raking left foot has some similarities to Polec, but he could be behind Brendon Ah Chee in the pecking order after Ah Chee was named best for the Magpies on the weekend.

Paul Stewart, Sam Colquhoun and Sam Gray have also been in strong form for the Magpies, but the latter would require an upgrade to the senior list before he’s eligible for selection.

After injuring his hamstring in the Round 2 game against Sydney, Jarman Impey has fully recovered and ready for selection this week.

Head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au he’s pleased with how he’s recovered.

“He’s ready to go, and has got through all the requirements of his recovery,” Burgess said.

“The return is about where we expected for him, so it’s a really good outcome that he’s missed only three games.”

Andrew Moore is serving the final week of a three-week ban and Ollie Wines is still on the road to recovery after dislocating his wrist against the Roos in Round 3.

He’s expected to be up for selection in the next one to two weeks.

West Coast Eagles
Eagles star forward and Coleman medal leader Josh Kennedy remains in doubt to take the field against the Power.

Kennedy injured his right elbow after hyper extending his arm in the Eagles’ huge 87-point win over GWS.

General manager of football Craig Vozzo says he’s waiting on scans to see whether he’ll be ready to play on Sunday.

“It’s a complex injury so we’re going through the assessment phase at the moment.

“We’re still hopeful that we’ve avoided a long term problem but we’ll know in the next day or so where that’s heading.”

He has also flagged wingman Matt Rosa and rebounding defender Xavier Ellis as possibilities for this week.

Rosa sat out of last week’s game due to back-related hamstring soreness and Ellis is yet to play a game this season after injuring his hamstring in the NAB Challenge match against the Power.

Midfielder Scott Selwood will be out for another two to three weeks due toan ankle injury and forward Jack Darling continues to recover from a stress fracture in his foot, leaving him sidelined for at least another four to five weeks.

The Eagles have been hit hard by injuries to key position players, with Mitch Brown, Eric Mackenzie and Jack Darling all out for an extended period.
