As the Power prepares to battle the Lions off the back of Brisbane’s first win of 2015, Portadelaide.com.au takes a look at who’s in the mix for selection in Round 7 for both sides.

Port Adelaide
Round 7 poses some interesting selection opportunities for Port Adelaide, with Ollie Wines a headline possible return for the clash.

Wines told portadelaide.com.au he’s a 50/50 chance to play against Brisbane this weekend as he recovers from a wrist injury obtained in Round 3.

"We'll assess Ollie during the week, he'll hopefully join in training and we'll get an idea where he's at," Darren Burgess said.

Jarman Impey returned to the SANFL side last week from a hamstring injury and had a stellar performance against Sturt. He scored the Peter Jackson Player of the Week, which may earn him an AFL recall in the Power’s backline.

With midfielder Jared Polec sidelined for at least another eight weeks and Wines still in the grey, there remains opportunities for Sam Colquhoun, Aaron Young and Karl Amon in the AFL side.

However, they’ll have the added contest of big-bodied Andrew Moore, who is returning from a three-week ban.

While Brad Ebert and Jay Schulz suffered nasty corks during the game against West Coast last week, they’re both expected to be recovered and ready for selection on Sunday.

Brisbane Lions
The young Lions side could be without key backman Darcy Gardiner when they take on the Power this Sunday afternoon.

Gardiner was subbed out of their Round 6 clash with Carlton with a sore ankle.

“[Darcy] rolled his ankle in a marking contest in the second half,” Lions physical performance coordinator Matt Hass told lions.com.au on Wednesday.

“He’s returned in a better state than we thought…he’ll have a slight chance to play this weekend but if not, then should be right for the following.”

Meanwhile midfielder Nick Robertson has been given the all clear to play this weekend after a close encounter with the boundary fence during the same game.

He returned to the field and is expected to play this Sunday against the Power.

Ruckman Matthew Leuenberger returned to the Lions’ lineup last week after spending a month in the reserves, making an impact in the forward lines.

Lions rucks and forwards coach Ben Hudson flagged his return as a positive for the team; a likely indication he’s in the mix for Round 7.

Frontline youngster Harris Andrews also earned accolades for his versatility during his third senior game on Sunday, after moving downfield to playing a defensive role for the team.

It’s a desirable, Westhoff-like characteristic likely to see him in the squad to take on the Power this week.
