OLLIE Wines considers himself a "50/50" chance to play Brisbane this weekend as he enters the final days of his recovery from a wrist injury.

Subbed with the injury against North Melbourne in Round 3, Wines's recovery has been quick, and is pushing to be declared fit for this weekend's match against Brisbane.

But even he admits it is still an outside chance he'll be picked at the selection table.

"I want to come back right and so don't want to rush anything with the recovery

"I'm probably a half-chance at this stage, so we'll see how I go for the rest of the week," Wines told portadelaidefc.com.au.

On Monday, Darren Burgess said Wined could return to training ahead of selection and would undergo a fitness assessment.

"We'll assess Ollie during the week, he'll hopefuly join in training and we'll get an idea where he's at," Burgess said.

If Wines doesn't play, he'll be a better chance to front up against Richmond the following week, in line with his initially projected return date.
