BRENDON Ah Chee will play a full game this weekend, but it will be in the SANFL Showdown against the Crows on Sunday.

Substitute last week against the Eagles, Ah Chee has been solid as the Power’s 22nd player.

But by wearing the green vest each week – often coming on in the second half – his opportunities to play a full game are limited.

It’s why he’s been put into the Magpies line-up to play the Crows this week, according to Port Adelaide’s senior coach Ken Hinkley.

“He’s not in the team mainly because we need to give him some full game time, we weren’t convinced we could fit him into our starting 21,” Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“He’s had only full game in the last four weeks, which we know isn’t in his football interests.”

It’s a tricky logistical situation for the Port match committee to work through, with the entire SANFL competition having a bye for the game against the WAFL next week.

So if he was selected as this week’s AFL substitute, Ah Chee would potentially only register one full game in a six-week block - against Woodville-West Torrens two weeks ago.

“We’re also mindful too that the Magpies have a bye for the state game next week, so we need to make sure we give him that chance when we can,” Hinkley said.

Cameron O’Shea, Jarman Impey and Karl Amon are the inclusions into this weekend’s Power team.
