COMPETITION for spots in the Demons’ starting 22 against the Power will be tight this week, with four players set to return from injury.

Dom Tyson, Chris Dawes, Jack Viney and Nev Jetta have all been flagged by elite performance manager Dave Mission as possible ins for the Indigenous Round clash in Alice Springs.

Midfielder Tyson is expected to be back on the field after missing last week’s win against the Bulldogs due to an MCL tweak.

“He ran really well at training today and we’re expecting him to train on Thursday, and be available,” Mission said on Wednesday.

Key goal kicker Dawes took last week off to rest some niggling calf problems, but has been training and is likely to bolster the Dee’s forward line.

“Chris Dawes had a good session yesterday and he’s someone who we want to see training on Thursday and again we expect him to be available,” Mission said.

Jetta has been sidelined for the past four games after receiving a nasty concussion in Round 4, but has been cleared by doctors to return this week.

Midfielder Jack Viney will also be up for selection following six weeks on the sidelines with a fractured fibula.

Meanwhile youngsters Christian Salem and Jay Kennedy-Harris remain on the injury list this week with respective hamstring and groin injuries and Sam Frost (toe) and Dean Kent (hamstring) are still several weeks away from return.

It’ll be a tightly-fought clash between the two sides, with Melbourne coming into the game off the back of an impressive 39-point win over the Bulldogs and the Power desperately looking to improve on their last three losses.
