IT was great to see the Power boys get the win this week, but it wasn’t such a great weekend for our NAB AFL Fantasy sides.

We had Gary Ablett go down just before quarter time and we had Dayne Beams withdraw as a late out along with Lance Franklin.

And as if that wasn’t enough - we have learnt during the week that Gary is out for the rest of the season and Nat Fyfe is also out this week as he tries to get over a quad injury he's been carrying.

There are a few things we need to consider when we are trading this week and that is making sure that we get the best guys that we possibly can in our sides

FANS MVP: Boak surges

Firstly, let’s have a look at Nat Fyfe. We expect he'll only be out for the one week. In our current game of AFL Fantasy you can trade him out this week and then trade him back in again next week.

If you are planning to do this, there are a few basic rules to follow:

  • If you trade him to someone cheaper, make sure you keep the excess cash in your bank.
  • If you trade to someone else, make sure that they don’t have a huge break even - if they lose too much value then you may not be able to get Fyfe back in your side.

The other option you have with Fyfe is trading him to someone else and keeping that player for the rest of the year.

If you have Gaz as well you have some real trading power this week. Obviously Gaz has to be traded, but with his price and Fyfe’s you can get in just about any player that you want.

ENEMY: Saint sidelined for the rest of season

The key players I would be recommending as replacements are Matt Priddis, Scott Pendlebury and Dan Hannebery.

All of these guys have hit some great form, particularly Priddis, and if you don’t have them they certainly should be very high on your consideration list as replacement players.

However, to get to some of these guys you will probably need some cash in the bank. So what you may want to do is go from Gary all the way down to someone like Joel Selwood which would give you plenty of money to move Fyfe to a different premium that is higher priced which will then allow you to bring Fyfe back in next week.

If you are looking at straight swaps then for just $20k you can get from Gaz to Dangerfield with Hannebery being a bit cheaper.

Pendles will cost you an extra $31k. For Fyfe you can straight swap to Scott Thompson or you can actually go down to Rocky if you don’t have him yet. Just $13k will get you from Fyfe to Mundy or $12k gets you to Boak.

Make sure you are keeping an eye on selection this week. There is quite a lot of talk that Dayne Beams may be out soon as he is apparently in need of a shoulder reconstruction at some stage.

The other one that was a massive cause of frustration thanks to him getting the green vest is Tom Mitchell. The likelihood that he will be dropped is fairly high as it really seems as though John Longmire doesn’t see Tom as of one of the key Sydney midfielders.

So who said this game is an easy one? Just when you think you have your team set and full of premium players we get something like this happen to us!

Best of luck with your trade options and I will catch you all next week.
