WITH the SANFL fixture set for release next week, Port Adelaide supporters are hoping one inclusion is made – the addition of an Anzac Round game against Norwood.

After the Magpies and Redlegs went head-to-head in the traditional rematch of last year’s grand finalists, the BIG PORT SURVEY conducted earlier this year found an overwhelming majority of Port supporters hope to see the SANFL’s two biggest rivals clash over Anzac weekend.

PARENTING: How you know you've done a good job

Over 81 per cent – or four out of five supporters – want to see a Magpies-v-Redlegs Anzac Round match in 2016.

And another thing…

Port Adelaide supporters were also quizzed on a range of topics about the local competition.

3 in 4 fans want to see the SANFL Grand Final remain a day fixture, preferring the traditional start time to a night or twilight final.

A narrow majority (52.94%) want to see the SANFL Grand Final revert to its traditional date, after the AFL Grand Final.

Nine in 10 supporters are also interested in seeing a return of some Magpies games as curtain-raisers to Port Adelaide’s AFL matches.

And, presuming lights were up to scratch (they’re not), 80 per cent of Port fans would like to see night football played at Alberton Oval.

BOOK: Since 1870 second edition releases

The SANFL will release its 2016 fixture just before Christmas, with portadelaidefc.com.au to provide comprehensive coverage of the club’s state league draw.

The BIG PORT SURVEY quizzed Port Adelaide supporters on a range of football, club and consumer-based questions.
