SOUTH AUSTRALIA'S traditional football rivals - Port Adelaide and Norwood - will open the 2016 SANFL IGA League season at Norwood Oval.
In the opening round fixture released by the SANFL this morning, the Redlegs will host the Magpies in a typically tough encounter at the Parade on Easter Thursday night.
It will be the first official match for Chad Cornes as senior coach of the Magpies, having taken over the position from Garry Hocking at the end of 2015.
Ben Warren will be coaching Norwood for a third season.
The remainder of the 2016 SANFL Fixture will be released on Saturday morning at 9:00am (ACDT).
