MATTHEW LOBBE will have scans to confirm the severity of a knee injury early this week, while Robbie Gray is expected to miss Sunday’s clash with the Lions.

Lobbe injured his knee during the second quarter of Port Adelaide’s 63-point loss to Sturt at Peter Motley Oval.

Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess said the ruckman would miss game time.

“We’ll send him [Lobbe] for scans and then assess from there,” Burgess said.

“There’s a bit of conjecture about what his injury is, the truth is we won’t know until the knee has been given time to settle and we can see what shows up [in the scans].

“Robbie needs another game off at least and we’ll begin his review process next week.”

Alipate Carlile’s recovery from a wrist injury is progressing well with the backman now expected to be back by the end of the month.

Chad Wingard will also be assessed once again to return from a delayed concussion sustained in Round 5.

“Normal procedure with concussions is to review ahead of each game, so we’re required to do that as part of our duty-of-care,” Burgess said.

Port Adelaide plays the Brisbane Lions at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday 8 May at 4.10pm (ACST)
