Port Adelaide has sent Schulz and Mitchell back to the SANFL to find form, and has brought back Nathan Krakouer and Karl Amon in their place.

Brisbane, meanwhile, has made five changes to the team that defeated Essendon last week, with Lewis Taylor, Michael Close, Archie Smith, Nicholas Robertson and Sam Skinner coming into the team.

Smith and Skinner will play in their debut AFL games for the Lions.

The quintet replaces Darcy Gardiner (ankle), Rohan Bewick (groin), Josh Schache (general soreness), Stefan Martin (rested) and Reuben William (groin).

The faintest of hopes

Port Adelaide is a mathematical chance of playing finals. With five games to go, the Power are three wins out of the top eight - essentially unable to drop a game for the rest of the season to be a realistic chance.  Winning against Brisbane is therefore critical.

Danger game?

Having lost to the lowly-placed Fremantle earlier in the year, the Power will not want to drop again to second-to-bottom Brisbane. With five changes and two debutants in the Lions line-up, Port must also look to take advantage of its relatively stable side, which will be boosted by the return of reliable defender Nathan Krakouer to a backline missing its most mature stoppers.

Final Word

Port's done it once over Brisbane this year. It needs to do it twice.

Afterwords
