MATTHEW WHITE'S horror 2016 campaign has been ended by a cheekbone fracture suffered in the first quarter of Port Adelaide's SANFL game on Saturday afternoon.

The senior Port forward will undergo surgery this week, ruling him out of the remainder of the season.

White only recently returned from a long-term pectoral rehabilitation.

Saturday’s match against Glenelg was his fourth since returning, and fifth for the year following his sole AFL game against St Kilda in Round 1.
