CHAD WINGARD, Hamish Hartlett and Billy Frampton have been scratched from the rest of the 2016 season.

The trio will not play any further part in the year.

Wingard injured his hamstring and will await the results of scans today, although it appears likely he won’t take further part in the season, with the recovery for even a low-grade injury sitting around three weeks.

Hartlett will remain in recovery for a calf injury sustained before the Power’s match against Brisbane, while Frampton has been hampered by a groin injury for several weeks.

Port’s head of high performance Darren Burgess says players would not be risked so late in the season.

“It’s not worth risking Billy or Hamish given the nature of their injuries,” Burgess said.

“We’ll have scans for Chad come through tomorrow, but I’d expect him to fall into the same boat.”

Charlie Dixon will also have an assessment on his ankle after Saturday’s lost to Melbourne.

Power coach Ken Hinkley said consideration would be given to resting Dixon if the was risk of aggravating the ankle more.
