WILLEM DREW has been a surprise selection for the Power at Pick 33 in the draft.

The 18-year-old from North Ballarat Rebels was the third medium midfielder taken by the Power on Friday night in Sydney following the arrival of Sam Powell-Pepper and Joe Atley.

Key forward Todd Marshall was the Power's first selection at Pick No. 16.

Drew pushed his way into the Vic Country side at the national championships after solid TAC Cup form with the Rebels, eventually playing three games and averaging over 10 touches.
