THREE recruits will make their debut for Port Adelaide on Thursday night against St Kilda.

Sam Powell-Pepper, Joe Atley and Brett Eddy will hit the ground running in what will be their first technical AFL games (pre-season matches count towards AFL life membership).

The trio played in the Power's internal trial last week, with Eddy booting a goal up forward, while Powell-Pepper and Atley spent time through the midfield for their respective sides.

The JLT Community Series provides senior coaches like Ken Hinkley the opportunity to trial new talent, and with rookie Eddy pushing for an early upgrade to the senior list, a big performance in pre-season will help his credentials.

As a first-round draft pick, Powell-Pepper will be looking to establish consistency as he aims to follow the example set by his predecessors in making a premiership season debut in his first year on the list.

Atley, brother of North Melbourne's Shaun, recently said he was looking forward to the challenge of playing pre-season football.

Port Adelaide plays St Kilda at 7.40pm (AEDT) on Thursday night.
