ANGUS MONFRIES and Matt Lobbe will undergo a fitness assessment next week, which both are expected to pass according to Port Adelaide's head of high performance Darren Burgess.

The duo have been in recovery from hamstring injuries and were hopeful of playing against North Adelaide on Saturday, but are instead likely to return against the Crows' SANFL team on Saturday 29 April at Woodville Oval.

"We felt the pair of them would benefit from another week off," Burgess told

"It's a long-season and we want to be risk-free with our approach.

"Both should be free to play next weekend."
