CHINA is out of the hunt for the 2017 Division Two AFL International Cup after falling to Germany by 28 points yesterday.

But reaching the qualifying semi final for Friday's decider capped the strongest performance by the team in the AFL's International Cup competition.

Winning all three of its group matches was a record achievement for the China team, which was led by Port Adelaide reserves player Chen Shaoliang.

China will play Japan in the Division Two 'Bronze Medal Match' on Friday morning.
