IT'S HOTTING up in footy world. September is nearing, and that means all of the AFL awards are about to go down to the wire.

Essendon, courtesy of Robert Shaw, got things going today with their case for Andrew McGrath to get the gong as the league's best emerging talent.

But then sports journo Stephen Quartermaine hit back with a big pump-up for Hawthorn's Ryan Burton.

The Dons weren't terribly interested in that idea though.

The Hawks weren't having any of that, and tweeted this OK goal from Burton.

As cute as it was to see the Dons and Hawks going tit-for-tat over which of their players is more deserving of the AFL Rising Star, we felt it our duty to step in and settle the argument.

Don't Argue with us guys...
