OLD RIVALS Port and Sturt will battle for the Thomas Seymour Hill Trophy in the 2017 SANFL Maccas League Grand Final.

The Magpies qualified with a win over Woodville-West Torrens last week, and Sturt did the job over the Eagles in Sunday's prelim final to book a place in the major round decider on Sunday 24 September. 

Port and Sturt have met 10 times in the grand final, with the Magpies victorious in 1910, 1936, 1965 and the most recent encounter in 1998. 

Sturt have prevailed in more deciders - taking home the pennant in 1915, 1926, 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1976.

The Magpies won by a narrow 15 points over Sturt in the qualifying final two weeks ago. after a storming start was reeled in by the Double Blues, which came within two points midway through the final quarter.
