FANS will be able to watch AFL at least once on every day of the week in 2018, after the AFL released its schedule for next season.

Channel Seven, Fox Footy and Telstra's AFL Live App will have every game covered, as they enter the second year of the six-year $2.508b media rights agreement.

There is one less Thursday night game than last year – seven in total – because Easter occurs in round two as opposed to round four.

There are two weeks of consecutive Thursday night games to open the season, followed by five games in the lucrative timeslot from round 13 through to round 17.

There'll be a historic Tuesday night game featuring Melbourne and Richmond on Anzac Day Eve, the fourth season in a row the teams have met before the public holiday.

Seven will produce five games for free-to-air audiences across the Anzac Round.

After Seven faced the logistical challenge of broadcasting from China last year, this year it'll be Fox Footy's turn to travel to Shanghai, with the game in round nine falling into the Saturday afternoon timeslot.

The game between Gold Coast and Port Adelaide will be played at 1.15pm Shanghai time, which is 3.15pm AEST and 2.45pm ACST.

Fox Footy will reap the benefits of four 6.10pm (AWST) Saturday night games at the new Perth Stadium. This will extend Saturday night football coverage until close to 11pm for east coast viewers.

Despite their form last year Carlton will still play in the marquee Friday night slot four times, on top of their round one opener on a Thursday night against Richmond.

North Melbourne, Fremantle, Gold Coast and the Brisbane Lions won't feature on the Thursday or Friday night stage at all.

Melbourne could consider itself a little unlucky, receiving only one shot at Friday night primetime.
