JACK WATTS could barely contain his excitement when he was informed that Jack Trengove would be joining him at Alberton Oval.

Watts said it was just incredible to get a phone call from his former captain, explaining that he too had been in talks with Ken Hinkley and the Port Adelaide Football Club.

“I was in Montreal with my girlfriend at the time when I got the call from him (Jack Trengove),’ Watts told media on Monday morning.

“He said, ‘you’ll never guess who I have just spoken to. Ken Hinkley.’

“He then said, ‘nothing was official just yet, so we can’t really get too excited.’

“As soon as I got off the phone, I messaged Kenny.

“I said, ‘he’s a legend, you won’t go wrong’ and Kenny said ‘it’s all done, you just need to keep it under wraps for a little while.’

The ex-Demons pair are now living together in North Brighton, and the 26-year-old said he is loving the lifestyle in South Australia.

“I love being out of that Melbourne bubble, but still in a footy-mad town,” he said.

“I am loving the beaches here. It has been such an enjoyable place to live.

“(Trengove) is taking care of me and showing the ropes.”
