PORT ADELAIDE captain Travis Boak has won the 2018 Shanghai Medal as best on ground in his side's 40-point win over Gold Coast in Shanghai.

Boak polled eight of a maximum nine votes from the three judges to become the second Power player to claim the medal, after Brad Ebert took it home from China last year.

The voting for the Best on Ground Medal in today's Round 9 match at Adelaide Arena at Jiangwan Stadium is as follows.

Three judges voted 3, 2 and 1 for the player they judged best on ground.

Voting breakdown:

  • Travis Boak (Port Adelaide) – eight votes (3,3,2)
  • Jarrod Harbrow (Gold Coast SUNS) – four votes (2,2)
  • Sam Powell-Pepper (Port Adelaide) – three votes (3)
  • Ollie Wines (Port Adelaide) – two votes (1,1)
  • Tom Rockliff (Port Adelaide) – one vote (1)
