PORT ADELAIDE defender Dougal Howard will be assessed throughout the week after injuring his hand in the game against Greater Western Sydney on Sunday evening.

Howard was attended to by club medical staff during the third quarter after experiencing pain in his hand.

Midfielder Karl Amon will also be assessed after complaining of knee soreness after a contest in the last quarter of the 22-point loss.

There were no fresh injury concerns arising out of Port Adelaide’s SANFL game against Glenelg on Saturday.

In other news, defender Hamish Hartlett has started running for the first time since his knee reconstruction in April.

Hartlett is 12 weeks post-surgery and is progressing well through his rehabilitation.
