As much as the Power was just one win and percentage out of the top eight, Ebert said the club knew it was much further away than that.
“The way KT (CEO Keith Thomas), Ken, the players were talking, we understand it wasn’t acceptable,” Ebert told Adelaide radio station Triple M’s Roo & Ditts.
“For a proud club, when you finish the season like that it is unacceptable and we’ve got to make changes to everything – the game plan, the players, the coaches – it’s a holistic thing.
“The way we will adjust from this will be positive.”
The reliable midfielder outlined the disappointment the club had endured from losing six of its last seven games and missing out on the finals.
“The boys are hurting at the moment and the end of season reviews were probably reflective of that with the way that it was all done,” Ebert said.
“It was harsh and fair and I thought the boys handled themselves well in the way that we reviewed the year but it’s too little too late
“Now we’ve got a lot of time to sit around and think about it.”
Ebert said among the things to work on in the off-season was improving the players’ decision making and skill level.
