PORT ADELAIDE'S Jack Kluske is in the running for the SANFL Powerade Breakthrough Player after being named the Round 19 winner for an impressive performance against North Adelaide.

Two be eligible to win the award, nominees must be aged 21 or under and have played no more than eight SANFL games at the start of the year.

Players will be rendered ineligible for the award if they are suspended by the SANFL tribunal.

Recruited from Sturt, Kluske’s consistent second half of the season culminated in him collecting 18 disposals, four marks, and four tackles against the Roosters at Prospect Oval in the final game of the season.

The 20-year-old made his league debut in Round 1 and was a reliable presence playing in the midfield, up forward or in defence.

He played 18 games and booted 10 goals.

Kluske’s Magpies teammate Levi Proude was also nominated for the award after his debut in Round 1.

Eagles defender Joseph Sinor won the award last year, earning himself a $2000 cash prize and a trophy.
