PORT ADELAIDE Next Generation Academy (NGA) members Jackson Mead, Kai Pudney and Martin Frederick have helped Woodville-West Torrens to the Under-18 Torrens University Cup Premiership.

Mead was named best on ground, taking home the Alan Stewart Medal, as the Eagles held on to win by five points at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Mead, the son of Port Adelaide premiership player and inaugural John Cahill Medallist Darren Mead, had 21 possessions, seven tackles and four vital goals including two in the last quarter.

Pudney had a game-high 32 touches to go with seven marks and three tackles, while Frederick was industrious off half-back with nine disposals and three tackles.

Mead is a member of the Father-Son NGA and will next travel to Melbourne to play in the NAB All-Stars Future’s match at the MCG on Toyota AFL Grand Final day.

He will feature on ‘Team Riewoldt’ which will be coached by NAB AFL Academy head coach Luke Power.

Both Pudney and Frederick are part of the Multicultural NGA and were part of South Australia’s National Championship winning Under 18 side in July.
