REVIEWING the 2018 AFL season, we take a look back at the Tweets that sparked the most interest this season. 

#10: Dixon injury

It was heart-breaking news to the Port Adelaide faithful when Dixon went down with a broken ankle in our Round 21 clash against West Coast, so much so it made it into our top 10 tweets of the year.

#9: Gray selected in the All Australian team

Everyone got around our super-star Robbie Gray after he received his fourth All-Australian selection.

#8: The tough decision between an offer and ….nothing

The Front Bar helped clear up the air with Marty Mattner’s tough ‘choice’ of taking up a coaching gig with us or the Crows.

#7: Showdown XLV

A controversial score review decision dived the state in Showdown XLV which resulted in the Crows winning the game. Everyone had their own views about the situation including Ken Hinkley in his post-match conference;

#6: Showdown XLIV win

The first Showdown of the year had a much happier ending, with Motlop’s goal in the dying seconds to win the game got all Port Adelaide people very excited.

#5: Remembering Phil Walsh

A tribute to Phil Walsh three years on from his passing. He will always be remembered at Alberton.

#4: Ollie Wines signs on

After months of speculation, it was relieving news to the Port Adelaide faithful that our vice-captain put pen to paper, securing his future at Alberton for at least another four years.

#3: Chad Cornes suspended as a runner

Everyone was interested in some unusual news to come out of our Round 6 clash against the Kangaroos when Chad Cornes was suspended as our runner for one game.

#2: Remembering J-Mac

Tribute to John McCarthy six years on from his passing. He will always be remembered and loved in the Port Adelaide community.
