After being held down by injury early in his career, Pittard is developing quickly as he gains more experience. Had a stellar 2016 season where he made the All-Australian squad, won the Fos Williams Medal and finished third in the Port Adelaide best and fairest. His running game is hard to beat when on song.

TIMELINE

2010

Pittard quickly forced his way into Sturt’s league side by Round 4 of the SANFL season, playing two matches before injury sidelined him for a month. He returned to the Double Blues but this time in the reserves. While he performed consistently, he wasn’t able to crack the league side again

2011

Pittard made his debut in Round against Collingwood and quickly found his feet at AFL level with a 27-possession game against Geelong at Kardinia Park. The following week, Pittard earned a Rising Star nomination in the Power’s Showdown win as he racked up 25 touches playing across half back. He played 12 of the first 13 games of the season before injury sidelined him, allowing him to play just one of the remaining nine games

2012

A disappointing year for Pittard, playing just one AFL game because of injury and form. A shocking injury against Melbourne in Round 14 saw Pittard have to catch the Ghan from Darwin back to Adelaide because he was unable to fly.

2013

After a disappointing 2012 due to injury, Pittard established himself in the first 22 in the latter part of the year. Not quite as consistent as the coaches would have liked, but Pittard showed glimpses of the talent he possesses, especially with his dashing runs off half-back.

2014

Pittard put his injury issues behind him to cement his place in the Power’s back six, playing all 25 games. The hard-running defender regularly set up the Power’s attack with his daring play. Leading the AFL in running bounces with 79 - a testament to his attacking style - at just 23 years of age and with 56 games under his belt, he is set to come into his prime in the coming years.

2015

His risky style of play had fans on edge, but his ability to create opportunity up-field was often on display. Particularly strong early in the season, he took the game on with bravery and was one of the Power's best avenues out of defence.

2016

Was arguably Port's best performer outside of Robbie Gray. His running ability and take-the-game-on approach saw him become chief creator for the Power's offence. Matured as a player and a leader.

2017

A couple of injury niggles kept Pittard to 17 games in 2017. The running defender averaged 20 disposals a game, and will be looking to get back to his ’16 form in 2018.
